ABOUT
Ellie is a compassionate and committed teacher. As a classically trained ballet dancer, she has been cultivating a deep connection to the physical body and to movement for most of her life. Movement is what initially drew her to the mat, but it is yoga’s special way of keeping us connected to our true nature that drives her desire to teach and to share this special gift with her students.
Ellie is a 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with the yoga alliance. She received her certification at Yoga Tree in san Francisco, studying with Elise Lorimer, Stephanie Snyder, and Darren Main. She has also completed prenatal training with Jane Austin and participated in various continuing education programs with Jason Crandell.
Ellie’s teaching style is a combination of graceful flow, thoughtful sequencing, attention to alignment, and a focus on moving and staying with the breath. She helps her students move stuck energy in the body, slow down the wildness of the mind, and above all, connect and remember their true spirit. Ellie creates an environment where students feel comfortable and supported in exploring their yoga, whatever that might be.
Ellie holds a B.S. from Boston College. She has worked as an affordable housing finance consultant, taught English in Buenos Aires, run events and marketing for a start-up, and been culinary director of a small non-profit. She draws from each of these experiences in her teaching to help her relate to her students and to share the power and peace that the yoga practice can bring to them, ultimately making them happier, healthier and more connected to themselves and their lives.
